Jacob

Jacob will always be my Angel Baby, but tonight my Angel Baby shaved for the first time. Dada pulled him into the bathroom and showed him the basics. Lucky for Jacob the only thing that has grown hair so far is his upper lip so no jawlines to tackle quite yet but the day is coming!

Spokane State Park - Bowl and Pitcher

Over President's Day weekend we went up to Spokane State Park. We rented a super neat cabin at the state park there. On the way up, which was treacherous with snow and ice, the kids played their screens so they didn't notice a thing.  Once we were up there we hiked, lounged around, did crafts, watched movies and played games. The cabin had a microwave so all we brought was microwavable food. Jack loved his kid's tv dinner. Since it was winter no one else was near our cabin so the kids and Skipper could play outside all they wanted. Most of the time they played some sort of game that included many weapons and defending the hill we were on. Jack had a whole elaborate scenario of battle plans and weapons to defeat the enemy. Amelia played along real well with the whole thing. Jacob did his best despite his teenage imagination.  It was also Valentine's Day so I brought treats, cookies and special surprises. For a Valentine's activity we each took turns writing one thing we loved about each other and ourselves on paper hearts.

Here is list of the kids':

Jacob:

Jacob is helpful

Jacob has great integrity! I love you!!

Jacob is very fun and I like when he is spinning me in a circle.

Jacob has a great moral compass

Jacob is the best.

Jack:

Afterwards we hung them up all over the cabin for decorations. I would say it was defiantly a warm and fuzzy weekend that I will treasure.

Snow

We got our giant snow of the year over President's Day weekend, about a foot. It has been so fun watching the kids play in the snow. The plow piled up our road's worth of snow at the end of the cul de sack again. The kids have since then dug tunnels around and threw it. As the days go on the snow fort has become more elaborate. The kids, along with Skipper, have spent a ton of time enjoying it.

Blankets

A while back I got so tired of picking up blankets all over the floor. I got the "wasn't me" bit from each kid, so I donated almost all of the blankets to the the Goodwill. My plan was to maybe, maybe buy them a blanket for Christmas. That way I could buy each of them a specific blanket so I would know who the culprit was when I found it laying around the house. Turns out I didn't have to because Myrna found some at Costco before I could buy any. It was so sweet of her to buy each of the kids their own blanket. Plus, she was so thoughtful to have each blanket decorated with some sort of panel that reflected the kids personality or interest. Both boys got some hunting or outdoorsy season and Amelia got some embellished inspirational says.

Amelia

Some writing Amelia has done in her school journal:

My skill is gymnastics! I am still learning it but I am going to be good at some point! I go to gymnastics every Monday, at least I use too. But I still practice so my skill is gymnastics!

My favorite snack is a piece of candy! It can be any piece of candy! I love it all!!!! From a sucker to a gummy! My favorite sucker is a dum dum. My favorite gummy is a gummy shark! Give me any piece of candy and I’ll eat it all!!!
